The copy will have the original name plus an addtitional remark like 'conflicted copy', but Epim doesn't warn you for this. It then will produce and default to a copy of the original database. Otherwise, the second instance will 'see' that the database is already in use by another instance. Make sure that one instance of Epim is closed correctly (at least the database is closed), before you start another instance of Epim elswhere. (like Epim pro on your home computer, and a copy of Epim Pro Portable on another computer). Not placing Epim itself in dropbox however, saves a lot of space in your valuable dropbox space.ī) Be careful If you use several instances of Epim. Epim doesn't see the difference between a dropbox folder or any other folder on your (hard)drive.
In fact, your dropbox folder is just a local folder like any other, which happens to be synchronized with another location. I use Epim from a USB-memory stick, and have my database placed on Dropbox.Ī) There's no need to place the Epim application in your dropbox folder: you can just leave it on your USB-memory.
